Waste is increasing.
In 2002 some 82% of domestic waste ended up in landfill sites resulting in growing damage to the environment through methane (a powerful greenhouse gas) entering the atmosphere and leachate (fluid) entering and contaminating the water supply. The government strategy is to recommend a target of 50% of households composting by 2006 and at least 35% of household waste being composted or recycled by 2010. Against this background and the specific requirements of the Environment Agency and DEFRA, ELCRP can offer advice and solutions based on acknowledged best practise.

Our staff have practical experience in resolving many environmental problems. As partners within East London Community Recycling Partnership they have been involved in developing innovative solutions to recycling problems, particularly in difficult inner city environments.
Both our composting plant and our recycling site are available for on-site consultancy and demonstrations. Both sites are considered as operating “best practice” and both are approved by the Environment Agency. Our Recycling Site being approved for the collection and storage of recycling materials, with our two Composting Sites approved for collection and composting of biodegradable waste.
